Trainers

Katy Johnson

I am a 40-something-year-old wife, mom, and now grandmother. I have been working in the fitness industry for most of my adult life.  I worked as a personal trainer, aerobic instructor, and active-older-adults instructor for 8 years. In 2002 I began training in Tae-Kwon-Do. I am now a 2nd Dan Black Belt and have been teaching martial arts for 4 years.  When I was first introduced to CrossFit, I was at what I considered the best shape of my life, at peak fitness. CrossFit taught me a few things. How exciting to find a whole new way to challenge myself!  Following CrossFit’s prescription for exercise and nutrition brings about a whole new level of fitness and health and I love sharing that with others.

Rick Johnson

I am 41 years old.  I am a U.S. Veteran, retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service.  I hold a 3rd degree Black belt in Tae Kwon Do with 11 years training experience.  I have been teaching martial arts for the past 7 years to students ranging in ages 3 to 69.  I was introduced to CrossFit 3 years ago.  From a fitness standpoint, for many years I have suffered with knee pain but, as I have learned proper mechanics through CrossFit, my knee pain has diminished to near nil.  As we move into 2010 my wife and I are energetic with our pursuit of becoming outstanding CrossFit instructors and, in addition to meeting our personal fitness goals, hope to teach what we learn to all age groups.
